CCA Open House 2014 Flyers!

Dear Cadets,

In view of the upcoming CCA open house, I would like all of you to come up with designs for flyers to give out. Try to make it as colorful and attractive as possible because these will be going out to your future CCA members! We need it to be in A5 size. If you want to make more flyers, that would be great!

Bring your completed flyers on Friday and pass it to Sr. Staff Sgt. Natalie at the start of GM.

Thanks
Happy holidays!

SJAB Selangor Overseas Trip Final Updates

Dear cadets going for the Selangor Trip tomorrow,

Here are some last updates:

  1. We are expecting periodic heavy showers everyday in Malaysia. Temperatures is around 31 degrees daytime and 23 degrees nighttime. That equates to same temperature as Singapore during day time, and just 2 degrees colder during nighttime. Please remind to bring umbrella in your backpack and have extra socks in travel bag. Poor weather may affect the outdoor hiking programmes.
  2. For day 1 SJAB HQ visit at 3pm, we have just been informed they are hosting us a dinner after the introduction and visit to the St John dialysis centre at 6pm. We will be also be interacting with 20 students from Malaysia and they might have some evening bonding activities for us like singing karaoke. Thus day 1 will be longer and we will reach hotel around 9.30pm to 10pm. Other days will end earlier.
  3. There is free WiFi in the hotel. Only thing unconfirmed is whether it is in the lobby or in every room.
  4. See you on Monday 6.45am around the SJAB room area in SJAB T shirt and track pants. The school gate will open at 6.30pm. The bus will leave at 7am. Please remember to bring your passport, CIP materials, 3-4 gifts to exchange with the SJAB students in KL, and other items in the packing list.  Please have some breakfast before you come to school.
Thank you
Mr Yong

Donations of Canned Food for Typhoon Haiyan

Dear cadets,

In ASJAB, we have always believe in the Service of Mankind. We have always been one of the only CCA in school able to pull off a fund raising or charity event within a short notice.

There is a call for action. You will probably have watched on TV and news about Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines that have devastated many. I feel we have the skills and expertise to do our part to help them. We are working with the Philippines LBC foundation to collect canned food within these 2 -3 days. The LBC foundation is the charity wing of the LBC Express, a 60 years old courier and cargo company. We will deliver the canned food to their company in Lucky Plaza Orchard on Thursday and Friday, as the last day for donation to LBC is 30 Nov. The cans will then ship them to the Philippines to help the victims of the Typhoon Haiyan.

Can I appeal to all the cadets and ex-Andersonians coming for SJAB Camp to bring unused canned food you, your family, your neighbours or relatives like to donate to the charity. Please bring it either on the first day of the camp (for cadets) on 27 Nov or the second day 28 Nov (for ex-Andersonians) coming. We apologise for the late notice as it took us a while to find an organisation that allows donations in kind and not cash only.

We will pack them together with ones donated by other members of student population and deliver them to Lucky Plaza on Thursday and Friday of the SJAB Camp. On behalf of the Corps, I want to thank you for your generous donation.

Thank you
Regards
Mr Yong
