Upcoming External CPBS Courses and June Camp

Dear cadets,

Please take note of the upcoming external CPBS Courses and June Camp dates. You can try to keep these dates free before you go for June holidays.

CPBS Courses

Before June Holidays

2 April (Sat) 8.45am to 1pm: CPR-AED Course (Compulsory for all Sec 2s). Venue is HQ.

28 May (Sat) 8.45am to 6pm: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Course (Compulsory for all Sec 3s). Venue is HQ.

June Holidays

31 May (Tue) 7.50am to 6pm: Civil Defence Course (All Sec 1s and 1 Sec 2).  2-way transport for the course at Bukit Batok Fire Station

2 June (Thu) 1.30pm to 5.30pm: Water Ambassador Course (All Sec 1s and 1 Sec 2). 2-way transport for the course at Newater Visitor Centre

St John June Camp

3 June (Fri) 2.30pm to 4 June (Sat) 4.30pm for all Sec 1s, 2s and 3s. Reason for the camp on these dates is because fasting month starts on 6 June. As most of the Sec 3s will have June vacation lessons from 30 May to 3 June, we wanted a date that is inclusive and before fasting month. We also want to give a longer June holidays for everyone as the next 3 weekends will be quite packed (Flag Day/ Counting Day/ CPR-AED/ SOTA FA Duty/ Boys Brigade FA Duty). We are also expecting a busy term 3 and 4 for Sec 2s and 3 (NCOC/ Nat Comp/ BGI Training).

CCA will step down on 9 April for SA1. It will resume on 18 May. Thank you.

KOTO Test Sec 2 on 20 May 2016 (Friday) 2.50pm

Dear Sec 2s,

There are no passes for KOTO Test last month. The next test will be on 20 May 2016 (Friday GM 2.50pm).

Please prepare very hard and study for us. You can pool in experiences from the first test as a platoon to discuss on past questions attempted before the test.

Please pay $1 fee to the YA next week for the test.

This Wednesday 23 March GM is cookery course for Sec 2s. Please bring apron too. Mrs Kumar will be preparing the ingredients for the first lesson. There will be a small $1 or $2 ingredient cost.

Media presentation by Channelnewsasia this morning. My Green Club teacher Mdm Ho is featured. The washing machine is joint SJAB and Green Club partnership.

One of our SJAB cadet will also be featured in the PUB Corporate video this Saturday.

On behalf of the teachers, I will also like to say a big thank you to everyone, NCOs and cadets for the many hours of GM and post GM hours of hardwork and pride displayed in doing a good job.

No doubt this can be a stressful project, especially the pressure of meeting the expectations of the school, community and PUB. But I am touched by the fact that you persevered on and see this level of pressure as a new learning experience. Keep up the good work and the friendship. It is what Anderson St John Brigade is all about.

Thank you very much and have a great World Water Day. Look forward to joining you in full brigade field uniform as well this Sat.

Regards
Mr Yong
