NDP Training (29/06/13)

Dear cadets,

Please be reminded that there will be NDP training on this Saturday. Details are as follow,

Date: 29th June 2013

Reporting Time: 0930 (9.30am)
Estimated End Time: 2100 (9pm)

Reporting Attire: Half Brigade Uniform with NDP t-shirt
Reporting Venue: NHQ

Things to bring: 1) Full Brigade Uniform with Rank without CPBS badges
                 2) Water Bottles
                 3) A pair of gloves
                 4) Thermometer


*Point to note*

1. Students with asthma or respiratory illness are strongly advised to bring along their medication.

2. Transport will be provided from NHQ to F1 Pit Building and from F1 Pit Building back to NHQ.

3. Lunch and Dinner will be provided for all cadets. They are strongly encourage to have breakfast before reporting.

Anderson Clover Guides' Bi-annual Campfire 2013 *updated*

Dear cadets,

As mentioned previously, the Girl Guides' campfire had been postponed, so I will still require all sec 1 cadets to represent ASJAB for this event. The updated details are as follows:

Date: 6 July 2013 (Saturday)
Time: 5:30pm
Attire: Casual wear
Please meet me outside the ASJAB room before proceeding for the event in the school hall.

Please inform me if you are unable to attend for any reason lastest by Sunday (23/06/13) 6pm, but I am sure I have given ample notice about the new date of the event so I wish to see all of you there!

Preparation for St. John's Day 2013

Dear cadets,

In view of St. John's Day, 3 July 2013 (Wednesday), we will be having a short preparation session for it since it is on the week of school reopen. The details are as follows:

Date: 1 July 2013 (Monday)
Reporting time: 2:30pm
Dismissal time: 4:30pm
Attire: PT Kit (Corp tee, no PE shirt unless you have yet to receive your corp tee)
Items to bring: Full brigade with CPBS badges and gloves
Do not bring your brigade down when you report.

On a side note, pet care portfolios (all cadets) and heritage trail portfolios (sec 2 cadets) are to be submitted on Wednesday's GM (3 July 2013), not Monday. I expect a full submission of quality work.

BFA for Sec 1s.

Dear sec ones,

Reminder that your BFA exam is 2 weeks from now. The components are CPR, conscious choking, bandaging and a theory test. Please start revising your CPR as well as conscious choking procedure. Also, try to practise your bandaging, especially arm sling and elevation sling. You can even find someone to practise bandaging on. Lastly, please read your first aid manual as most of the answers to the theory exam can be found there. Study hard in order to pass BFA.

Dear cadets,

Please be reminder that there will be NDP training on this Saturday. Details are as follow,

Time: 1000 - 1830

Reporting venue: NHQ

Things to bring: Full brigade uniform with rank without CPBS badges

                 A pair of glove

Transport will be provided from NHQ to floating platform and from floating platform back to NHQ. Lunch will also be provided.

June Camp (11-12 June 2013)

Dear cadets, here are the details for the June Camp on 11-12 June.

Reporting time: 7.30am SHARP. Everyone to be fallen in by 7.30am at the parade square, with bags, flags and bottles standardized.
 Attire: PT kit (CORP TEE + track pants)

Some cadets have yet to submit their June Camp consent forms. All late consent forms are to be handed in during opening parade. This is the last chance to hand in the consent forms.

All group I/Cs, please collect your group members' valuables and place them into a plastic bag, labeling your group name. Please also collect the camp fees from each of your group members. The camp fee is $4 per person. All valuable bags and camp fees are to be handed in during the first parade.

Please ensure that you have brought all items in the packing list and please be aware that you are not allowed to bring any items that are prohibited, like electronic gaming devices (other than phones) and cup noodles. Remember to bring your thumbdrives(if needed) containing the songs for your campfire performance.

Heritage Trail Details

Dear cadets,

A reminder to all that there will be a heritage trail on Monday, 10 June.

Attire: PE Attire - School PE shirt and school shorts
Time: 9.00 am
Venue: Outside ASJAB room
Things to bring: Presentation materials (if any for sec 2s), water bottle, writing materials, consent form.

On that day, the sec 1s will follow the respective sec 2 groups and you are required to stay in your groups during the trail. The sec 1s' groupings are as follows:

Pet Care Project Details

PET CARE

1. Know how to take care of their own pet covering general care, diet,
health and cleanliness.
2. Know how they should be housed.
3. Know when to give food and water.
4. Know whether they need exercise or not.
5. Know the name of the nearest veterinary surgery.
6. Know the telephone number of the SPCA.
7. Know what to do if they see an injured stray animal.
8. Know what to do if they see cruelty to an animal.
9. Know when they are sick apart from the usual symptoms skin, ticks,
maggots, wounds, etc.
10. To be able to produce a document in any form of media to spread the
message on animal care or prevention to animal abuse.

It must be a portfolio of at least 800 words.You can include colour and other decorations to make your work presentable. The due date is Term 3 Week 1. I do not want any late submissions.

June Camp Details

Dear cadets,

Just a reminder, here are some things to prepare for the upcoming June camp.

Group Flag
Flag: 1.00m by 1.50m
Pole: 1.20m
The group flag design must be related to your group name and plan a description of your flag for the flag presentation. All group flags MUST be standardized.

Group Cheers
Each group is required to come up with 2 long cheers (8 lines) and 3 short cheers (4 lines).

Group Performance
Each group performance should last around 5 minutes. If any music or sound is required for the performance, do save it in a thumbdrive and pass it to the YA department before the campfire.

If there are any queries, you may contact any of the NCOs in the YA department. Good luck in your preparation.
