NCOC Camp 2 Jun (Sat) to 4 Jun (Mon)

Dear cadets,

Below are the NCOC camp details for this weekend:
Date: 2nd June 2018
Reporting Time: ANCO –7.30am , BNCO – 8.00am
Reporting Attire: PT Kit
Reporting School: Anderson Secondary School (ANSS)
Reporting Venue at ANSS: ANCO – Parade Square, BNCO – Indoor Sports Hall (ISH)

Please note that the additional instructions, course notes, packing lists, ROs can be found in the documents folder in the blog. 

Overview of Camp Day 1 to 3:
• ANCO – Ultimate Challenge, Triage, Footdrill MOI & Classroom MOI 
assessment, Administration Badge Assessment / Re-assessment, Route 
March, Campfire, Passing Out Ceremony

• BNCO – Hiking, Camping and Campcraft assessment, Outdoor Cooking, Map Reading re-assessment, Campfire, Passing Out Ceremony

Additionally, the committee would like to seek assistance from teachers in the following: 

1) Cadets who are absent on Course Day 2 are to bring their respective Medical Certificate (MC) or parents letters on Camp Day 1. 
2) Cadets who are fasting are to consume a heavier meal before attending the course.
3) Cadets have to fulfil at least 80% of their attendance (theory + camp) in order to pass BNCO or ANCO. The 80% attendance is calculated by the hours from the start of course day to end of camp day.  

I have attached a list for your reference of cadets who are at risk or already Out Of Course (OOC) for both ANCO and BNCO.

NCOC Information Course Day 1 (19 March 2018 Sat)

Dear cadets,

The routine order for NCOC BLTC and ALTC is as follows:

Reporting Venue: CHIJ St. Joseph’s Convent (62 Sengkang East Way, 548595).

Reporting Time:
1. For cadets who prefer to meet in school for one way bus to CHIJ Sengkang: 7.10am in full brigade
2. For cadets who prefer to meet in CHIJ directly from home: 7.50am (as opening parade starts at 8am) 

End time and dismissal venue: about 4.30pm in CHIJ Sengkang

A one way school bus is provided for cadets who prefer to take the school transport. We cater a one way transport as time end can have delay if your respective officers wish to debrief your team after dismissal.

BLTC (Sec 1 and 2)

A. Reporting Venue
1. Canteen in PE Kit

B. Items to be brought by Trainees
1. ** PT KIT – School PE T-shirt/ St John related T-shirt with black PE shorts/school PE shorts/track pants and covered school shoes
2. Writing materials
3. Personal thermometer labelled with name and school
4. 1.5 Litre water bottle labelled with name and school (Only disposable kind allowed)
5. Personal Medication (If needed)
6. Administrative Documents (If needed)

C. Instructions to Trainees
1. Upon arrival at the course venue, trainees are to report to canteen for group allocation.
2. Be punctual on the course day.
3. Have adequate sleep the night prior to the Course.
4. Keep themselves well hydrated before, during and after the Course.
5. If trainees are not able to attend the Course Day, BNCO committee must be informed in advance via email by respective Teacher-In-Charge stating the reasons of absence.
6. Trainees who either feel unwell, currently on medication or have just recovered from an ailment within the past one week must inform their group instructors of their ailments.
7. Lunch will be provided during all of the course days.
8. Course notes will be printed for trainees. You don't have to print. The soft copy is available in the documents folder of the blog titled NCOC. Please read through them before you come for the course.

1. Full Brigade Uniform (without CPBS badges and rank slides). Cap badge should be the circular cadet badge.
2. Drill Order (See details in Page 2 “Section E – Information to trainees”)
3. Writing materials
4. Personal thermometer labelled with name and school
5. 1.5 Litre water bottle labelled with name and school (Only disposable kind allowed)
6. Personal Medication (If needed)
7. Administrative Documents (If needed)

D. Instructions to Trainees
1. Upon arrival at the course venue, trainees are to look for their Group Instructors (GIs) and gather in their respective groups.
2. Be punctual on the course day. Trainees are to inform their GIs if they are delayed.
3. Memorise the St. John Pledge.
4. Have adequate sleep the night prior to the Course.
5. Keep themselves well hydrated before, during and after the Course.
6. If trainees are not able to attend the Course Day, they are to inform their GIs in advance. Reasons of absence must also be supported with official email from respective Teacher-In-Charge.
7. Trainees who either feel unwell, currently on medication or have just recovered from an ailment within the past one week must inform their GIs of their ailments.
8. Uniform to be clean and ironed, boots to be polished.

E. Information to Trainees
1. Trainees will be contacted by their respective GIs prior to Course Day 1.
§ If trainees have no information about their groups and GIs by Thursday (17th May), they are to inform their TIC to contact Samantha Tan (ANCO Chairperson).
2. Lunch will be provided during all of the course days.
3. Course notes will be printed for trainees. You don't have to print. The soft copy is available in the documents folder of the blog titled NCOC. Please read through them before you come for the course. 
 4. Drill Order includes the following:
§ Head dress (beret)
§ St. John based T-shirt
§ St. John Belt
§ St. John bottoms (pants / culottes)
§ St. John boots

Please also note that at least 80% of attendance is one of the passing criteria required for both ANCO & BNCO trainees to pass the course. The other passing criteria includes passing assessments, having good appraisal and attitude.

Important update to Zone 4’s payment method for course fees:
- Course fees will be fully subsidized from Zone 4 Zone funds based on the registration numbers submitted in nominal rolls.
- Cadets do not need to make cash payment for the course fees on Course Day 1.
- However, should the cadet fail to turn up with no valid reason, there will be no refund given. Cadets will also have to bear the full course fee of $40.

Nevertheless please come for the course as the number of badges you will upon passing is important for Chief Com badge at Sec 4. Moreover, the skills taught are also important for NCOship in the near future.
