Donations of Canned Food for Typhoon Haiyan

Dear cadets,

In ASJAB, we have always believe in the Service of Mankind. We have always been one of the only CCA in school able to pull off a fund raising or charity event within a short notice.

There is a call for action. You will probably have watched on TV and news about Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines that have devastated many. I feel we have the skills and expertise to do our part to help them. We are working with the Philippines LBC foundation to collect canned food within these 2 -3 days. The LBC foundation is the charity wing of the LBC Express, a 60 years old courier and cargo company. We will deliver the canned food to their company in Lucky Plaza Orchard on Thursday and Friday, as the last day for donation to LBC is 30 Nov. The cans will then ship them to the Philippines to help the victims of the Typhoon Haiyan.

Can I appeal to all the cadets and ex-Andersonians coming for SJAB Camp to bring unused canned food you, your family, your neighbours or relatives like to donate to the charity. Please bring it either on the first day of the camp (for cadets) on 27 Nov or the second day 28 Nov (for ex-Andersonians) coming. We apologise for the late notice as it took us a while to find an organisation that allows donations in kind and not cash only.

We will pack them together with ones donated by other members of student population and deliver them to Lucky Plaza on Thursday and Friday of the SJAB Camp. On behalf of the Corps, I want to thank you for your generous donation.

Thank you
Regards
Mr Yong
